User Reviews about Robbins Pathologic Basis of Disease
I'm currently a medical student and frequently use this book as a reference. This is considered by many the definitive work on pathology. It is divided into two sections: one on general pathology and the other on specific organ systems. I find that this format is helpful for the modern "organ based" curricula currently used by many medical schools.
All sections that I have used thus far are well written and fairly easy to understand. At times, the important topics are lost in minutia, but that is to be expected in such an exhaustive work. In summary this is as good and exhaustive a work on pathology as I have seen and I recommend it to anyone looking for a relatively comprehensive resource on human pathology. -- The definitive work on Pathology
I bought a cheap older patho book last summer to brush up on patho - got this text in the fall when classes started. This text is miles ahead of the other and was extremely helpful in understanding detail in depth to fill in the blanks from lecture. I was thinking recently, that I would look up and and read in this text every condition I encounter in practice for a long while to put things in context. This text is so great I think this exercise will make me a much better NP.
Only thing that would improve this text would be handheld version! -- HEAVY text and worth every ounce
In my opinion this is one of the best Pathology books out there in the market. It contains a vast amount of information on pathological diseases and their origin affecting our world today. I highly recommend this book as a reference and a guide to understanding medical phenomena and break throughs for anyone interested in the medical field. -- Best Path Book Ever!!
I absolutely LOVE this book! I know some people are intimidated by the sheer size/thickness of it, but it really is an excellently written book. Detailed yes, but very easy to read. If you're still scared of the text, the pictures alone are reason enough to buy it. Waaaay better than any pathology board review book in my opinion. -- great book!
I bought this book based on my instructor recommendation on pathology class. In general this book is very good one interm of teaching the basic pathology. I highly recommend this book for people majoring in pathology. -- Great book to learn about basic pathology
